Samhain & Autumn Bliss

Autumn is soon comming to an end, the trees are once again naked against a cold gray sky. With the smell of snow in the air, it wont be long before the world will be painted white. Today was Samhain. Perhaps the most important holiday for a witch like me. The time to remember our lost ones, and to help them find their way home again. Light candles in every window and carve out your pumpkins. I didnt have time for a pumkin carving this time around, but I still had a great time. I spent time with my granny and served her pumkin cake, dressed up in orange, black and stripes. And felt the wonderful chill of autumn wind on my skin. It was a good day.

The past few days have been fun. I had a great weekend with Ole. We drank wine in the stable and laughed alot. We had a road trip with Boots (he's aWelsh Sec D stallion) and had him jump, it was fun to see how quickly he realized what he had to do... all in all I couldnt be happier. All I want now is a house. And there is one for sale now. My dad will see it on saturday.

And I also found some pictures for you.

This here is my windowsill. With old bottles found on the farm, and my granny's attic. I put coneflowers from the garden in them, and they last forever. I've also tried roses and other flowers. It always looks good. I love that the paint has flaked off, love the worn look.

This is from Ole's farm, behind the old barn. The old treehut was made by him and his sister when they were wee. My sister took this photo, and it just capures the amazing atmosphere this place has during autumn. I love spending time in that pasture. It's so romantic and fairytale like. A little haven in such a busy world.

And here is me and Ole. Goofing around in the stable. Yeah I am kind of short :) And he is kind of tall... But we have alot of fun still. He's my best friend and we're always up to no good.

I'll be back soon with more pictures, more nonsense...

What you like defines you....

I'm brand new to this blog experience, and in time I hope to be updating images of my many ideas and crazy things that happen in my life. I especially love fleamarkets and interior design, and so as soon as I get my camera up and running I shall be showing you some stuff...

But for now, I thought I wouls amuse myself, and you (...) with list of things that make me happy...

Dragonflies: This image is actually of my dragonfly tattoo in the making. Me and my sister have the same tattoo. A design I drew for us with the help of one of my sister's friends. Dragonflies are our common totem animal. And I love to live in a place where there are hundreds of them in August.

Coffee: I am a coffee-o-holic. I love everything about this hot brew. The dark sensual smell, the comfort of a cup in the morning, or with your best friend outside in the brisk autumn air. Anytime, anywhere....

Cats: Espically my cat, Hexa... she's my wee baby girl and I dont know what I would do without her. She's the one in the picture.

Horses: Espcially the Welsh ponies... And more than anything I love Ole's two Welsh cob's Barbie and her filly foal Babydoll... Babydoll is the one in the picture.

Countryside: I love everything about living in a rural place. With it's animals, smells and fresh air...

Trees: I'm more of a tree lover than flowers. I find beauty in every tree and is facinated by them. Each one is a piece of art, given to us from Mother Nature. My favorite is the maple.

Autumn: my favorite season by far. I love to feel the fresh chill on my skin, the smell of the rain. The crisp leaves under your feet and above all... the spectacular colour show.

Lakes, Rivers & Waterfalls: I love water, but tranquile forest lakes, rushing water falls and crisp rivers to swim or raft in is my favorites...

Thunderstorms: I just love them... the colours, the smell, the sounds....

Scarfs, hats & anything home knitted: My gran is a brilliant and she always makes me what I want. I have an addiction for scarfs, shawls and hats... Scarfs is the first thing I wear in the fall, and the last to come off in the spring...

Mushrooms: I just think they're funny, cute and fairytale like...

Fleamarkets: Always on the hunt for treasures...

Antiques: Especially antique porcelain. And I collect the green stuff from Figgjo Flint. A Norwegian company.

Candles: I can never get too many candles... and nothing makes a home better than flickering candles.

Red Wine: I love my wine in the evening... or at the stable with Ole... Just the bottle and us, and a lot of laughs. My favorite is probably Sangre de Toro, a spanish fairly fair priced wine.

Pez: I cant help it....

Witches: I'm a witch myself, and witch history and practise is obvioulsy very close to my heart.

Books: I'm a fanatical reader, but I also love books for what they are. The mysery and presence... I have a pretty vast liberary.

Movies: Love Tim Burton and Johnny Depp... and I love flicks, any type really. From sappy chick-flicks to fast paced action and out of this world fantasy stories...

the Moon: I get hypnotized everytime I see a gorgeous full moon... which completely anoyes Ole, as I will always gawk at it and tell him to look. As to witch he always replies "it's just the moon Trine, I've seen it a million times before".... sigh...

Yule: I love gifts (who doesnt) and the food, the smells and the warmth... and in my family we celebrate yule not xmas. Seeing as none of us are christians.

Long light summer nights: I love it when it gets light to 3am in Norway. When dusk rules and the dark never creeps up on you. When you sit outside with your friends and chat untill the early hours over a bottle of red and just love being alive.

First Snow: it's one of those ordinary miracles you just cant help love... Even if I hate snow...

Waking up next to the one you love: It's pure bliss....

Coneflowers: they're pertty outside, they last forever inside in a vase and they help you when you have the sniffels... yeah...

Bats: they're amazing... so many people dislike them. But I just love them, there are plenty of bats where I live.

Pumpkins: Samhain (Halloween) is one of my fav things as well... and pumkins remind of autumn, Nebraska and samhain....
